Week Day Ministries
At St. John’s, we believe that children are a gift from God and that nurturing their growth—spiritually, intellectually, socially, and emotionally—is part of our calling as a church. Through our Preschool and After-School Program, we provide safe, caring, and Christ-centered environments where children can thrive. Whether it’s learning through play in our preschool classrooms or building friendships and life skills after school, our goal is to support families and help children grow into the people God created them to be.
We invite you to learn more about our programs and discover how St. John’s can be a partner in your child’s journey.
Preschool Program
St. John’s is home to a vibrant weekday preschool ministry dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered environment where young children can grow through both active play and active learning.
Each classroom is staffed by two teachers who are fully background-checked and certified in Pediatric CPR and First Aid. Children experience hands-on learning through art, stories, puppetry, music, cooking, gym time, outdoor play, and manipulatives.
In addition, students enjoy enrichment opportunities such as weekly Spanish, music class, yoga, and garden lessons, along with bi-monthly chapel. Our goal is to support every child’s spiritual, social, emotional, and intellectual development in a loving environment.
St. John’s Preschool also offers a dedicated class for children with special needs, serving students with autism, Down syndrome, and developmental delays.
The preschool meets from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, with optional Early Drop Off (7:55–9:00 AM) and Late Stay (until 2:00 PM) available. A summer program is offered in July.
Afterschool Program
St. John’s After-School Program provides a safe, loving, and faith-based environment for elementary-aged children. Each afternoon, students are picked up from local schools by church buses and brought to St. John’s, where they enjoy a nutritious snack, daily devotion, homework help, and gym or outdoor play.
The program is enriched with artist-led art classes, field trips, piano lessons and a variety of engaging activities that encourage creativity, confidence, and community.
The program runs on Rock Hill school days and operates until 5:45 PM, giving families peace of mind and children a supportive place to thrive after the school day ends.
Through this ministry, we believe God has called us to provide a space where children from both our congregation and community can grow to their fullest potential—intellectually, physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.
