 Paws Together

WHAT IS A PET MINISTRY?

A team of organized volunteers and their pets who visit adults and children in nursing homes, hospitals and individual residences to share the love and joy of Christ with the people they visit.

BENEFITS:

Together with their handlers, pets help to alleviate depression, promote confidence, motivate patients and provide a much needed element in the healing process of unconditional love. Planned animal visits also give patients something to look forward to.

WHO PARTICIPATES?

All animals have a specialty: some are pros at sitting quietly for lots of loving; others are masters at catching and fetching. Some play hide-and-seek; others enjoy a leisurely walk around the halls or grounds with patients. Their handlers have special skills too: some enjoy working with children, others with the elderly, some with recovering stroke patients or people in emotional distress. With guiding hand and friendly paw, pet ministry groups help to heal the hearts of those they visit.
